Type of Examination: Timed online assessments at home

Prior knowledge:

Competence at ICB Level III Bookkeeping

Prerequisites: 

Candidates must have achieved the following ICB Bookkeeping examinations, or gained exemptions from them, before applying:

  • Level I Certificate in Basic Bookkeeping 
  • Level II Certificate in Manual Bookkeeping 
  • Level II Certificate in Computerised Bookkeeping
  • Level III Diploma in Manual Bookkeeping
  • Level III Diploma in Computerised Bookkeeping

Candidates must also:

  • hold valid AICB, MICB or FICB status or
  • hold valid student registration and have completed their most recent examination within the last two years

 

Unit Achievements:

Candidates can choose between the Level IV units listed below, or complete them all within a two-year period to be awarded the Level IV Diploma in Financial Management.  

Syllabus Detail:

Unit 1 - Management Accounting

The units comprise:

Monitor Financial Performance

  • Collecting information about costs from both internal and external sources
  • Monitoring performance and making recommendations to enhance value
  • Preparing and presenting periodic performance reports

Draft Budgets

  • Preparing forecasts of income and expenditure
  • Preparing draft budget proposals

Unit 2 - Drafting Financial Statements

The units comprise:

  • Draft Limited Company Financial Statements
  • Interpret Limited Company Financial Statements

Unit 3 Personal Taxation

The units comprise:

  • Calculating income from Employment
  • Calculating Property and Investment Income
  • Preparing Income Tax Computations

Outcome Statement/Competence in the work place


Unit 4 Business Taxation

The units comprise:

  • Preparing Capital Allowance Computations
  • Computing Assessable Business Income
  • Preparing Corporation Tax Computations on Income and Capital Gains
