I've recently gone from being a sole trader since 2009 to a Limited Company. I have banked with Barclays since I was 16 and held a business account for my sole trader since 2009.
I went through all the necessary to create a new limited company account only to find that Barclays dont recognise the ICB as a justifiable governing body, the ICB is simply not on their list. As I told them, I am a practicing bookkeeper who is a member of the ICB which is sufficient for me to practice and yet Barclays dont agree.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with Barclays? Does anyone at the ICB know differently? I have found this a very frustrating excercise and completely fed up with Barclays.
