Hi All

Hoping there is someone out there who can help and are happy to share their experiences of having a client who is a ebay seller.....

Thought it would be fairly straight forward to get set up as a additional user so that we could pull off the necessary reports to look at sales made and charges leived but...

accepted the clients invite to be a 'multi-user', and set up an ebay account so we can switch to theirs - which worked but only can see the sales they post etc but not the reporting functionality.

Have spent nearly an hour on live chat with ebay - who go us to set up our own seller hub! which they said would allow us to see out clients reports but no joy only can see ours.  they have escalated it to try to resolve!

Would really appreciate knowing how you deal with this, as not sure if we are set up wrong...

Hi Alison

Bookkeeping for clients using Ebay, Shopify , Amazon etc can be quite complicated.  I have never been able to get the correct info direct from the platform but instead have had to use software eg A2X or Linkmybooks to ensure all the reports are pulled accurately from the platform to our accounting software (Xero)  Im not sure what software you are using but you can google those two apps and you will see what they do to make a bookkeepers life easier.

Hi All. I have just started a trial with Dext Commerce (formerley Greenbank)_ for a new client who sells through Shopify and Etsy.  I'll let you know how I get on.   I had tried the new Shopify App in Xero but the VAT was all wrong and took me ages to coorect.   Best luck, Mark

 Hello,

Sorry to hijack the thread but I think you may have solved a major headache for me! I have an online seller using 7 platforms and each month I have spreadsheets coming out of my ears to get the transaction data into QBO so will definitely trial Dext Commerce. This may be a game changer as I can see 5 of the platforms that will integrate.
