i can't decide which provider to use. i want to study distance learning icb and ideally want to pay a very small deposit and a monthly option plan, less than 50 pounds a month. do you think this is possible or should i self study? it's so confusing, i don't know how negotiable these companies are? any advice would be great. Smile

Hi,

From my own experience, I tried it on the cheap by studying from the Kaplan books but found it was very difficult. I passed the level 1 mock but failed the proper exam. I then decided to fork out for the Kaplan on-line course and passed level 1 and 2 manual and 2 computer both with distinctions. I wasted about a year trying to do it without any help. I found Kaplan on-line worked for me and i paid in installments. A word of caution though, the material is riddled with mistakes, but i just worked around them as i got sick of querying points over the phone. I have heard others have had similar problems with other providers.

My best suggestion would be phone around!

I study with Ideal Schools - not the cheapest I don't think but apart from one or two obvious typos which were confirmed over the phone very quickly, I haven't noticed any glaring errors in the work sent.... that might just mean I'm blind as a bat and totally daft Undecided

(Sushhhhh! You weren't meant to agree!)

Anyway - phone around - in this age of endless rollercoaster depressive economics providers are likely to be quite flexable.  They might require you finish paying for one course before you start the next but I doubt they would refuse to listen.
