Information for Accountants

Hi,

What information would a bookkeeper need to give an Accountant?
I presume the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Trial Balance at year end.  Is there anything else and what about through the year?  What about the VAT return?

Hi Sue

I always ask the Accountant if they want any extra information - I always send the the P/L TB BS as well as all copies of VAT Returns - I also send them a backup so they can load the information and check what I have done rather than them having to send lots of email questions.  Some Accountants want Month End reports - some just ask for Year End - is best to contact them, have a good rapport with them  and check what information they need.

I am sure others will have other suggestions/recommendations

Best Wishes

I agree, ask the accountant. I have 4 clients that each use a different accountant and they all ask for different things. One has management reports every quarter another every month. Like Abacus says, build up a relationship with the accountant and send them what they ask for.
