Gosh, I don't know where to start with this. Bear with me.
I've done level 1 manual and level 2 comp, but I've stalled on taking level 2 manual and getting the practise license.
Here's the problem; whilst the idea of self-employment appeals, the reality seems to be that the whole world and his dog has had the same idea, especially with so many people losing their jobs over the last five years. Reading various forums it seems that there are too many bookkeepers (some of them vastly experienced) scrambling around for a small number of clients.
I really don't see the point of dropping £200+ for the exam, the practise license, the increased membership fee and everything else just to become part of a saturated market.
I'm in the Salisbury area, and I know that circumstances vary by region but are there any other bookkeepers around here? How are you finding it at the moment, if that's not too vague and stupid a question?
Damn it, I should have come to the meetings.
