Hello All,

The next Kent branch meeting has been arranged for 14th May at Rainham (Kent) social club at 6.30 PM.

The first approx. half an hour will be networking, then we have two talks lined up:
- Karen from the HMRC coming along to do a VAT talk
- Stuart Morris giving an MLR scenario-based talk, which will be great to improve our understanding of MLR

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

It will be on the events page shortly

Hi all,

There are two talks the HMRC could do - here is the exerpt from HMRCs email:

We have 2 short presentations available covering subjects as follows:VAT Grasp the technical, giving an overview of rules re, tax points, Bad Debts, discounts, Partial Exemption, Options to tax, recharged costs, disbursements and a few other areas.  This is only a 30 min presentation, giving the basic principles.

Or alternatively, VAT Special Schemes, covering main rules about Cash Accounting, Annual Accounting, Flat Rate Scheme, and Retail Schemes. Again a 30 min presentation

Could you please reply here if you have a preference for which talk could be given: I will go with the majority and respond to Karen next Friday.

Thanks,

Cheryl

The VAT talk that is going to be given is the "grasp the technical" talk - it looks like there is quite a broad scope to this talk, and hopefully we will all pick up some tips!

See you all there,

Cheryl

Hi All,

Just a reminder for the Kent Branch meeting on Monday. Hope to see you all there.

Last time, a couple of people mentioned that the social club was a little hard to spot, it is on Station Road, and has an advertising board either side of the entrance. It is next to tootsies foot spa.

Regards,

Cheryl

Hello All,

Just a quick note to say thank you to all who attended the meeting on the 14th, it was a great turn out, and we had some informative talks from both Stuart and Karen.

The next meeting will now be in September - the July meeting has been cancelled due to holidays plus the lack of availability of the venue.

Hope to see you all at the next meeting!
