Hi Jo,

Glad the 30th April is still on. I shall be able to make it God willing, however, I cannot find anywhere to part company with my fiver. Did the payment through the shop area on the main ICB website last time, but the link does not seem to be there this time. Maybe I am missing something as I am new to this lark, but the payment link I could not find.
Regards,
Andrew Fleming

Hello,

You can now book your place to attend the next Suffolk branch meeting via the online shop. Click HERE to be redirected, or alternatively you can give us a call on 0845 060 2345 and we will be happy to book you in.

Win a stay at a 5* London Hotel

For ICB to remain as the world's leading bookkeeping organisation, we need to know what our members are doing and what they want from their professional body.

We would therefore like you take a few minutes to complete our annual Member Survey.  But as we know that you are all busy people, we thought you might need an incentive. So we've put together three fantastic prizes:

First prize is an overnight stay at a top London hotel plus one day's free CPD training with the team at the ICB HQ,
Second prize is a day's training at the ICB HQ,
Third prize is half a day's training at the ICB HQ.

These fantastic prizes will be awarded to the first three people selected at random from the responses.

Click HERE to take the survey

Take care

Thanks again for a great meeting yesterday! It was motivating and definitely inspired me to get on with my Level 3 exam!

Was definitely good to see more of us there Smile

Been busy today but will get on the case tomorrow for the "main topics" of future meetings & will post on the forum once a date & agenda is confirmed.

Will also email out the....er....minutes (?) to all attendees.

Good to see everyone there at the meeting, useful to pick up some valuable tips. Some more advice please, would it be better to complete the Level 3 Courses before I go for my practice licence? The reason I am asking is If I leave it until I get the Level 3 Bookkeeping Courses, I shall be able to offer more than just plain ledgering.
Look forward to your suggestions.

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I did L3 before applying for my license but I was focusing most of my time on my studies so I guess it will depend on how much time you are able to give to it.  How quickly do you think it will take to complete you Level 3 computerised & manual studies & exams, taking into consideration that it can take up to 4-weeks to get your computerised results?

If you think it will take you some time I'd apply for my practice license now - at least then you can start marketing yourself & trying to get some business.  You can actually do a lot at Level 2 - take a look at http://www.bookkeepers.org.uk/Membership/Joining%20by%20Exemption

The only additional things at Level 3 are draft final accounts for Ltd Companies & Partnerships & fixed asset register; at Level 2 though you can still do bookkeeping to trial balance for Ltd Companies & Partnerhips. Plus you have your payroll services which you can offer so I would just go for it!! Smile

Let me know what you decide & good luck!

Jo
