Suffolk - new branch at Stowmarket

The first meeting of the Suffolk branch will be held at The Cedars Hotel, Stowmarket....... 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Monday 12th. March. We will be meeting in the Constable Room ........ Come along for social and professional networking, discussion on the setup of the group, future topics, speakers etc Book your place via the shop page . Ken, Head of Regions, Advisory Council.

Hello

Are there many people intended to go to the meeting in Stowmarket?  It is a very long drive for me to get there (over an hour one way), and I don't want to make the trek (and organise childcare) if there is only going to be a couple of people there.

Hi Lucy,

May be worth contacting member services at the ICB to see if they can confirm how many people have registered for the event. I'm down to attend & as a student waiting for my last exam result to come through so I can hopefully apply for my practice license, I hope there will be a good turn out as I would love to learn from other's experiences. I may even be able to add something based in my own non-bookkeeping experience :-)

Hi Neil, I've just realised that my previous answer probably didn't contain enough information!

I live in Halesworth (a small town in Suffolk) but most of my work is Bungay, Beccles, and around the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Basically Stowmarket is not on the radar, where as Norwich is the nearest decent shopping town.

Launch of the Suffolk Branch.
 Monday 12 March at The Cedars Hotel, Stowmarket, IP14 2AJ.

The first meeting of the Suffolk branch will be an opportunity for members and students to meet fellow bookkeepers and share experiences. Starting at 7 pm, come along between 6.30 and 7 to network.
The meeting will be informal and relaxed but with the following agenda.
*6.30 - 7 pm     Open networking
*7 pm                Welcome - Ken Bell, Head of Regions and Neil Tracey, East of England Regional Chair.
7.15 pm             Member/Student introductions
7.30 pm             ICB News and Regional development
7.45pm              Main topic - "How to succeed in business"......... a short presentation  with discussion to follow.
8.30 pm             Future development of the branch - frequency, times, venue, cost, etc.  An opportunity for those present to shape future meetings.
8.50 pm             Any other business.
9.00                   Close

and to the bar for refreshments to continue!
