Hello

I keep seeing posts about the branch network meetings that are going on, but they are all too far for me to be able to attend.

Does anybody know if there are any in Berkshire? - I live in Bracknell.

Hi Sandra,

You are more than welcome to attend our events in Ashford, Kent. They are held at the Holiday Inn which has some great rates online for overnight stays, particualrly if you are coming with someone else and sharing a room.

I thought the same. I am going to the CPD meeting in Reading on the 28th June and one of the topics there is
"Branch Meetings
Could you benefit from a bit of peer guidance, or do you have some experiences you'd like to share? Members have set up branches in Oxford and Horsham and this event provides the opportunity to measure interest for a more local branch"

Let me know if you are going and at least we can meet up at the event.

I was hoping for a little networking and peer guidance, and just to get to know others who understood what I am going through trying to set up on my own.   Not sure I could offer much myself at this point, but hopefully in time I will.  

The forums are fantastic for getting an insight and getting advice (and even offering a little to students who may be struggling) but it would be nice to speak to people rather than just typing!!

Hi I would be interested in joining a group in Berkshire.  I am in Hungerford.  I am thinking of going to the Seminar in Reading but was wondering if the topics to be covered might be a bit advanced for me.  I have hit a brick wall so far as studying is concerned (I am doing my Manual 2 bookkeeping).  The reason that I have not done any for a while is that I had my kitchen refurbished and just could not concentrate with all the noise.  However that is no excuse now!  I am also trying to find a job that will give me some experience as I definitely feel I need this.  There just does not seem to be a lot around at the moment.  I went for an interview for a financial assistant/purchase ledger clerk last week but didn't get it because there was someone else who had more purchase ledger experience than me.  Tell me how can I get the experience if I can't get a job!!  It is all very frustrating!!
