The repairs and renewals code on Sage I know is for things like purchasing hand tools etc but if a builder buys screws/nuts & bolts/nails etc to use for a job would they also go to repair/renewals or materials purchased code 5000?

Hi Smudge,

I personally believe that they would be under the materials purchased code 5000.  As they are items that he is in essence reselling to his clients.  When he is completing his job the cost of those fixtures would be included in his total cost for the job.  They are not tools that he will be able to re-use (so not a renewal). But that's just my opinion!
