Hi all,

I was just wondering how many people had used the books from the ICB. Mine arrived today as I'm hoping to study for the exam in the next couple of months, but am nervous about getting the 100% needed in the exam & am wondering whether it is worth getting the course from Ideal Schools as well?

I've got my level 2 in both manual & computerised (using course providers) & have got distinction in all 3 exams so far, but this is slightly outside my previous knowledge.

How many of you have passed with just the books? And how many felt that you would have benefitted from tutor support?

Many thanks!

I brought the ICB book and used the HMRC website which I found gave me more understanding than the book but I did find using both helped. Give it a go!
Good luck

Thanks Ange,

I'm going to get as much info as I can & start working through it all.

I've already got people interested when (if!) I pass, as there are a lot of sole traders round me that can do the bookkeeping basics but need help with things like this.

Fingers crossed I don't confuse myself....

I also bought the book and gain information from HMRC and I understood it. I think ICB book was much more clearer than ACCA Taxation book.

I've completed and about to submit my Self Assessment exam paper to ICB. Hope I pass.

Hi
I did get the text book for reference it did help with understanding some parts. I also used Directgov and hmrc websites and found them to be very useful.
Don't worry about the 100% its not the end of the world ... I managed 86% with my first attempt am awaiting correction results.
Good luck just give it a go !!

I've printed off all the information I could find on the HMRC website & used half a printer cartirdge in the meantime! With that beside me, I'm going to start reading carefully throught the text book.

Good luck to those who are submitting their exams, hopefully I'm not to far behind you.
