Hi Everyone,

Question on how to effectively value and carry out stock count for an e-commerce business that resells a large range of auctioned baby items. Quite specific I know!

The purchase of goods is made at an online auction and the contents of the items are not known until they are delivered.

As it is a warehouse auction, some items are damaged, 2nd hand, new or some components can be salvaged (and combined with others to then resell) and sometimes random items such as dog toys are included!

The business sells over 100 different baby product categories ranging from baby bottles, pumps, toys, carriers, sterilisers etc. Within those categories, there are different brands of each item with various levels of resale value depending on if the item is new, used, etc. It is very rare for the business to have on stock the exact same item.

It would be great to get your thoughts on this!

Thank you. Smile
