Has anyone worked for a company that outsources work remotely? If so, how did it work for due diligence and AML regulations? Is it worth getting involved?

Thanks, Angela

Angela,

I am not sure I understand the question, can you give more detail so that we can help you?

Thanks

Hi Lucy

I've applied for some work but the company send the work via email so although the contract is between me and the company, I would be doing work for their clients. As I'm not at their office, how can I check they do the due diligence and AML checks on the clients I am doing work for? Does it not matter as my contract is with the accountant?

Thanks, Angela

It is my understanding that the Risk assessment and due diligence you would do would be on the company you are instructed by.  If you are worried best to give the ICB Compliance team a call on Monday to confirm.

Thanks Lucy

I thought that was the case but I will give the compliance team a call to check.

Have a great weekend

Hi Angela,

I'm currently in a similar position and wondering how you went about the AML regulations in the end? I've phoned and emailed the ICB but still waiting for a response.

Thanks,

Helen

Hi Helen

Something else came along so I didn't pursue the work. I must admit though, I've had the same problem as you with regards to ICB not calling back. I've had to look elsewhere for my answers unfortunately.

Hope you get some answers but I'm thinking what Lucy said is correct unless things have changed. It would be nice to know for sure though.

Good luck, Angela

Thanks Angela,

Yes, looking at the AML risk form, I think I should put the details for the company I will be directly working for and then obtain written confirmation from them that they have completed due diligence on their clients.

Thanks for your response, Helen
