 BA4

Gutted! Yesterday I attempted the BA4 mock paper, which is in 2 parts. The computerised section I was advised to download the 3 folders at the back of part 1 of the mock, and attempt the computerised and then mark it myself as I dont upload to ICB the computerised reports file which i made.

I did find some questions in part one, especially bank reconcilliation confusing, (but thats probably just me, as i dont quite get it yet!). When I finished I got 74% and a fail. I am going to check the anaylised report and see where I went wrong and that way I can learn from my mistakes.

Having said that! i did wake up this morning and think 'god', if i took hours to complete both the manula part 1 and computerised part 2 and if we have 2 hours to complete BA4, im never going to pass, time wise anyway?  Also I contacted ICB as my computerised results to which I mark myself and which I got correct is not taken into account as its not uploaded to them? Im bemused.

My motto ''if at first i dont succeed, try, try again' so hey ho. fingers crossed for the real exam. in the meantime I have more revision.

Hi Pennie

Keep at it! It is worth it in the end! What is your issue with bank reconcilations? Perhaps you just need a bit of guidance? Are you self learning or do you have a tutor? I'm happy to help if you need a bit of help! Sometimes it is just a different voice explaining how things work!

My contact email is hazel@hrm-bookkeeping.co.uk

Kind regards

 Dear Hazel

Thank you very much. Im simply self learning from Kaplan books. I have looked at where I went wrong with the answers given. It was taking the wrong opening balances. So much to learn but yes I must keep at it. Im not working in the field at the moment, and never have been.  Used to do Admin when working, now simply retired and trying to learn to earn. Ive gone through the study text books and computerised and rivision book. Its a lot to take in, but im enjoying it.  Thank you for your offer of help

Hi Pennie

I also suggest you go along to your local branch meetings as you will meet lovely people who can help answer your questions! Sometimes it is just a different way of explaining a topic that makes it click!

You have my contact details if you need more help!

Kind regards

Hazel
