I’ve just finished level 3 and have started on the self-assessment tax course with a view to applying for a practice licence once that’s completed. Having made a start on the tax course I’m feeling a bit deflated as there seems so much to take in and I think it will take me ages to get through it.
My question is, should I apply for a practice licence now and make a start on setting myself up as a bookkeeper? I’m not sure that I can offer much to prospective clients without being able to do self assessment tax returns and ideally wanted to be able to offer that service prior to starting a practice. I would welcome other people’s comments, advice and experience.
