I have just had a telephone call from the manager of a small company in Kelbrook (between Colne and Skipton) who is looking for a professional bookkeeper. She has managed the bookkeeping, VAT and payroll herself to date, but as the business is expanding she feels the time is right to take on a bookkeeper to assist her. The company makes timber framed self assembly buildings.
They use Quickbooks desktop version, and the annual accounts are prepared by their accountants. She needs someone to manage their sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliation, VAT, not sure about running the payroll, but to produce regular management reports - currently they only know how they are doing when they get their annual accounts.
I would love to take the job on but it is just a bit too far away for me, and I can't commit to any more clients that require me to attend their premises regularly.
