Happy New Year to all the Berkshire Branch! I hope that 2014 will be a productive and profitable year for us all.
To get us off to a flying start, our regular meeting will take place on the 3rd Tuesday of January - the 21st - and our speaker will be Sean Egan from Hale and Co Chartered Accountants in Maidenhead.
One of the questions my clients regularly ask me is what are the pros and cons of being a Sole Trader vs a Ltd Company. Sean is a Tax specialist and, since minimising Tax liability is one of the main reasons for becoming a Ltd Company, he is well placed to give us some good advice to pass on.
The other angle to registering or not, is the whole minefield of what can (and what can't!) be claimed as allowable expenses. Sean will also give us some practical pointers to help us help our clients to run fully compliant businesses.
