Hi

I am new to the ICB, I would be interested in some feedback. At present I am employed but would really like to go out on my own, maybe hearing other people's experiences will help me in hopefully making the step.

I am from the Lisburn area.

Hi Folks,

My name is David Ritchie, I am currently a student but just waiting to hear back from my level two computerised exam to become a full memeber.
I am keen to get to know some fellow members in northern ireland, and also get/help/share advice about being a self employed bookkeeper.

Currently I am full time employed in the banking sector, studying towards accountancy with ACCA, volunteering in a local accountancy firm and looking for a trainee postion. But I am also keen to develop myself as a bookkeeper, not only to make a bit of extra money but i like to idea of being my own boss and having my own say on how I earn an income, also i kinda love it when numbers add up!

Would be great to hear back from fellow members.

Welcome to the group David, numbers are building quite nicely, send me an email to localbusinessservice@hotmail.co.uk with your contact details and i'll keep you posted on details of meetings etc, it's a while since we last met so we are overdue a get together to catch up and plan CPD courses etc. Most of us are self employed with practice licenses with ICB so there is always plenty of help for you. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Nicola, I'm also living in Northern Ireland, I completed AICB (comp) through distance learning, I'm currently studying towards ACCA and sit my exams in Belfast. I am aslo AAT qualified. BPP is where I get my ACCA books from and I used the material provided by ICB for ICB exams. There is not much going on in Northern Ireland by way of CPD's, courses lectures etc that I have found :( so if you hear of any please let me know. I used ICB to bring my SAGE knowledge up to date if your wondering, I became a member of the AAT when I lived in England. What part of the country are you from?
