Northern Ireland Membership

Hi

Having read the Northern Ireland forum threads it would appear that there are
not many members in NI?

However when I had a look at Pearson Vue to book my Level 2 exam they seem
to have 4 appointment times per day and are booked fairly solid for the next 3 to
4 weeks!!!

Are these appointment slots specific to ICB or can an appointment slot be for any
one of a number of exams?  Just wondering because if they are specific to ICB
then there are a lot of people out there that could potentially be invited to join the
Northern Ireland group and strengthen the membership and voice here?

Any thoughts?

Hi Marie

I think I'm right in saying that Pearson Vue run loads of different exams for different professional bodies, and are also where the driving test theory exam takes place so the fact that they're heavily booked doesn't mean lots of ICB members, sadly!

When I took my first exam at a Pearson Vue centre I didn't realise that and in the waiting area was speaking to a guy taking an exam. He looked at me like I was crazy when I talked about bookkeeping - he was there for his driving theory test!

lol  - thanks for the heads up Clare - I'll have to remember not to make
that mistake!

That's a pity though - it would have been nice to get some more members
- we'll have to think of other ways to do it!

Regards

Marie,

Pearson Vue run examinations for Driving tests, Teacher training, ACCA and many others. Booking a test involves lengthy waiting times and time slots that can be extremely unsuitable. Last year I sat the QTS Teacher training Numeracy skills test at Pearson Vue Belfast. I missed the pass by just one point 62% and while I am recovering from a disability decided to study Bookkeeping with ICB. Pearson Vue and the National skill NCT College would not take my disabilities into consideration meaning I had to do the QTS test under the same conditions as students with full health.

Passed level 1 Manual Accounts, have you studied Sage 50 Accounts yet?
