12Pay software question and payroll software choices

Hi

I am having a look at the 12pay software for running my payroll on after 5th April 2011 as I am really fed up with Sage and their attitude.

I have been playing with the trial software tonight and it seems good, takes a while to find everything after having used Sage for so long. However, I have one question, can you print onto preprinted payslips (2 per page)? I know you can print on blank paper, but I have a supply of sage like 2 payslips per A4 page to use up first.

Any ideas?

I have also been trialing the Moneysoft payroll and I can see you can print on my stationery with them. 12 pay does have the edge at the moment only beause you can send and receive HMRC information.

Anyone else got any advice for which one is best. Really want to make sure I still use a good quality software for payroll.

Hi there.
After having a horrible time with SAGE payroll (uurrggghhhhhhhh) I tried 12pay and ditched that aswell almost straight away. I now use MoneySoft payroll and ITS GREAT!!!! Not the prettiest thing in the world but its functionality is fantastic and it does have full HMRC integration as far as I have found. Its also really cheap if you are running numerous payrolls as I am. I really like the calendar tab where you can just block out maternity leave etc and it does all the sums for you, and its really flexible for different work patterns, term time only contracts, staff paid at different times of the month etc.

They also send regular updates which are autmoatically loaded in at no extra cost and the help section is great. I have called them a couple of times and they were really helpful too. You don't actually need forms for it to print on - the graphics on the payslips are very clear if you print on 'plain paper' and you can just chop them up with scissors if you can live without the little perforations....

I love it. I recommend it all the time. They should pay me commission....

I too strongly recommend Moneysoft.  Over the years I have tried many programs but, when running a payroll bureau, there is simply no better, easier, faster way to process client's payrolls that I have found than Moneysoft.  I do buy the special payslips simply because of the number of employees we process each month and those payslips drop instantly into normal DL window envelopes.

The P35 and year end stuff takes seconds per client and the online filing is pretty much instant for all the forms and seems to work even if the FBI2 is still on it's way to HMRC.  It also uses standard HMRC supplied P60's so no expense there either.

I  agree - Moneysoft is excellent - also it was recommended by a lecturer at the ICB Conference a couple of years ago - can't really argue with that !!

Good luck

Hi

Just to say I understand people wanting to change software but that does not mean that Sage Payroll is rubbish.  I have sage payroll bureau .  and I appreciate sage is expensive but their cover and reporting is excellent .  I have also known them to talk some of my clients who do their own payroll through every step.

I think it is a very good payroll package and has won loads of awards for its payroll.  We ring the cover which is excellent for everything and every personnel situation that come up.    I always wonder why on forums people ask sage payroll questions and not just ring sage payroll. I have to say I never had an attitude whenever I have rung them .  If anything they have always been extremely polite on their cover lines.  Sage also prints on Hmrcs P60,s and P45,s and completes the online P35 in seconds .  It is also very good at paying different staff at various times of the month and is easy to use especially when you use the criteria button.

Another vote for Sage Payroll.

As with Sarah I can understand people looking for cheaper alternatives, but Sage gets my support.

Recently attended a free Payroll year end seminar at their Head office. It was provided as part of the Accountants Club package and turned out to be a good networking morning as well as informative.

Good luck in your search.

Hello, I am also a fan of Sage payroll and also use Iris payroll for another client and this is also a very good software package and if you are looking for a web based payroll you could look at MYPAYE.
