The next event for the Oxford region will be on Tuesday 8th February at the Treehouse play centre in Didcot, South Oxfordshire.
A new venue for us, but we thought we would try South Oxfordshire!
Tea / Coffee will be supplied. For those wishing to eat as usual, we can visit a local restaurant if required after the usual discussions.
From feedback, the discussion this time will be around 'practice management'
Hope to see you there

Thank you to everyone who attended last nights event in Didcot. Especially for the openness of the discussions.
I hope that you all took something away from our discussions on the subject of 'Practice management', when we looked at areas such as Filing systems (paper and online), MLR, Client management software, software used in practice including online options, logistics of running a practice.
We hope to meet  again in late April / Early May, so please let me know any topics, subjects or speakers you would like to see organised.

The next meeting for the Oxford region members has been organised for Monday 23rd May, 6pm.
We are returning to our favourite pub venue, The Turnpike at Yarnton.
http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/theturnpikeyarnton/findus/
From feedback, this meeting will be a social drinks event to network with other members and find out more about each other plus the common issues we are facing.
As before, obviously there is the opportunity to eat from the great menu and lets hope for the fine weather to continue so we can enjoy the garden area.
I hope you can join us.

Our thanks again to our hosts for last nights meeting in Oxford, Shaw Gibbs Accountants www.shawgibbs.com

I am sorry that I could not be there myself due to my emergency eye operation, but from the feedback I have this morning I understand it was an excellent event and i have many requests for similar meetings in the future.

The only disappointment was that only 14 of the 27 that booked turned up!

Hopefully see you all at conference in November.

Great news to see Shaw Gibbs accountants in Oxford shortlisted for the award of Accountancy Firm of the Year.

They have been fantastic support to the local Oxford Region with the hosting of events and organisation of some great speakers and presentations.

You may have already seen, but the Inheritance Tax presentation from the last meeting is now available on the ICB web site. See http://www.bookkeepers.org.uk/News/1416

If you have a moment, please take the opportunity to vote for your Accountancy Firm of the Year and hopefully you agree that Shaw Gibbs have been fantastic support locally for ICB bookkeepers.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.
The next meeting for the Oxford region members has been organised for Monday 30th January, 6pm.

We are returning to our favourite pub venue, The Turnpike at Yarnton.
http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/theturnpikeyarnton/findus/

From feedback, this meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the various bookkeeping software used by members.

If you are like me, you primarily use one or two pieces of accounts software, but hear every day about another piece of software you could use. But is it a minefield that then stops us from looking into whether we are using the best software for our clients because there are too many to consider?

Different members have different experiences of different software. There are many new providers with the online or cloud based versions. So which software should we be using? Well in itself that is a great question!
This meeting will be a group discussion event reviewing the different software being used by members, identifying the good and bad points and  providing you with the opportunity to ask questions about the software to other members.
Does it do this? Does it do that?

As before, there is the opportunity to stay and network whilst eating from the great menu.
I hope you can join us.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Oxford regional meeting earlier this evening and shared their thoughts.

Evidence that the top 5 numbers to focus on in your business are not always the financial numbers.

Reputation, service delivery, marketing & sales activity and staff numbers were all great examples of areas where key numbers can be utilised and measured as part of our key performance indicators.

Turnover, profit level, margin, charge out rate, productivity rate and breakeven point were just some of the financial numbers we can use.

Hopefully this session will help you with your own thoughts as much as help develop the support for your clients focus.

Enjoy your holidays and see you in September.
